About the Day Spa Association
The Day Spa Association (1988) and the International Medical Spa Association (2001) have supported the Spa and Wellness industry and its practitioners for over two decades. Our mantra is Connect the Community, which is why membership in our associations has no charge for those actively practicing the pursuit of Wellness. Nationally and Internationally, all are welcome to join. Allan Share – President of the DSA
In August of 2010, Allan Share, a 27-year veteran of the Health and Wellness industry, took over as President of the Day Spa Association (DSA) and the International Medical Spa Association (IMSA).
“After working a lifetime in other aspects of our industry, it’s very gratifying to be able to give back through these two world-class organizations” says Allan. After selling his previous businesses, he adds, “there’s not another industry in which I care to spend time. This industry is a passion for me, everyday I can’t wait to speak to those in our industry.”
His vision for the DSA and IMSA is to continue building upon the legacy started in 1988.
The DSA and IMSA are the leading trade Associations supporting Spa, Salon, Resort, Luxury, Esthetics, Skin care, Medical Spa, Cosmetology, Massage and more.
Membership is free and supported by industry manufacturers and distributors. The benefit package, available to all, includes: a resource department (call us on any subject and we’ll do the work), available subscriptions to industry leading magazines, legislative updates, world-class Calendar of Events, Library on current topics and most of all “we connect the community world wide.”
Our associations do snapshot reports during the year covering a range of topics from Retail and Compensation to Medical Spa treatments and 4th Quarter Gift Card Sales, all in included free with membership.
Allan’s previous companies include New Life Systems and Lotus Touch. Both companies were sold to Scrip Companies (owners of Scrip/HESSCO, Massage Warehouse, Promed and others) in 2007. He continued on for three years as Director of Spa Operations out of his Minneapolis, Minnesota office.
Allan is an advisor to many companies in our industry and is also co-owner of an educational software company producing math and science programs for K-12, college and planetariums around the world. He is an advisor to MedEsthetics magazine and mentors several up and comers in our industry.
