Pampering yourself is fun and inexpensive. Try our 7 at-home spa treatments to stay in and relax!
#1. Purifying facial
Begin by cleansing your skin. Next, exfoliate your skin with a mix of water and oatmeal. Follow it up with moisturizing, soothing and applying a natural face mask.
Leave it for 15-20 minutes before gently massaging your face using your fingers. You can also wash your face with lukewarm water and massage it with oils such as almond, grapeseed or jojoba.
#2. Soothing eye treatment
Tired of irritated, dry or puffy eyes? Try our soothing homemade remedy that’s easy and refreshing.
Refrigerate chamomile tea bags for an hour before placing over the eye area for 10 minutes. Cool cucumber and potato slices work equally well.
#3. Skin brightener
Pineapple and papaya are excellent natural skin brighteners and exfoliators. They’re rich in alpha-hydroxy acids that brighten and tighten your skin.
Make a face mask by blending honey, yoghurt and papaya. Apply and leave it for 10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
You can also make pineapple ice cubes by placing pineapple pieces in ice trays and applying them to your skin for 5 minutes and rinsing with cold water.
#4. Aromatherapy
Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to a diffuser and relax. Alternatively, you can add 10-12 drops of the essential oil along with a teaspoon of honey in your bathtub.
#5. Milk bath
A milk bath will cleanse and nourish your skin in no time. Lactic acid present in milk is known to soften the skin and will soothe psoriasis and eczema.
Add a little milk powder or a few cups of milk, honey and essential oil to your bathtub. Go one step further and sprinkle a few rose petals or if you’ve got good listening skills, tune into some relaxation music for an indulgent treat.
#6. Hair treatment
You don’t necessarily have to shell out a big chunk of money to get shiny, lustrous locks.
Make a hair pack by mashing avocados and applying directly to your scalp and hair. Avocados will instantly give the nourishment and moisture your hair needs. You can also apply a beaten egg for a protein-rich treatment.
#7. Refreshing body scrub
Remove dead cells by exfoliating your skin every now and then. What better way to treat yourself than making a scrub of natural ingredients?
Mix olive oil and sugar and scrub to bid goodbye to dry and dull skin.
