Creation of the National Esthetician Certification – NCEA Certified credential is the highest voluntary credential in the United States–raising the standards of our profession beyond entry-level licensure. The NCEA Commission on Accreditation (COA) was formed to facilitate and supervise the continuing education requirements of the skin care professional for recertification and/or relicensure.

Their first event was held March 2011 at the Grand Hyatt in Carlsbad with over 100 spa directors in attendance, Dr. Murad as the keynote speaker and 40 vendors. Since then they have held events in the areas of Ojai, Orange County, San Diego and even sailing on a presidential yacht. Spa Connection is now entering it’s 3rd successful year in 2013 and the 4 partners still meet around that big grandiose table in Spa Gregories to discuss their next plan of attack!

The SDSS is a voluntary organization that is helping Estheticians develop and foster the highest standards of skin care in the dermatology setting. The SDSS members have worked with the National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufactuers/Distributors & Associations to help develop the  National Esthetician Certification. The SDSS will promote the profession of dermatology skin care through interdisciplinary collaboration and by acting as a resource about the profession for other health care professionals.
