The wellness sector was experiencing growth way before the pandemic, but the global health crisis pushed it to the forefront even more. People are trying to comfort themselves during these trying times and are also paying more attention to their general health. This is why we’ve seen the sales of supplements and vitamins skyrocket over the last two years. Employers are also starting to understand the importance of having a mentally and physically healthy workforce. Let’s take a look at some of the health wellness trends we can expect to see in 2022.

Outsourced Fitness Facility Management

The pandemic has been particularly tough on the fitness industry which has had to adapt many times over its duration. Gym owners now understand the importance of offering safe facilities to their clients while still providing them with the best experience possible.

This is why many of them are turning to consultation and facility management services like EXOS Gym Design. Not all gym owners have the expertise necessary to properly manage their relationship with their clientele. Outsourcing allows smaller gyms to access the same advanced management and lead/client nurturing tools as multinational brands.

Gyms that manage their relationships well are better able to create a link with their clientele and can offer a truly unique experience to each of their clients. They’ll eventually be able to target their marketing better and maximize their profits by upselling clients with products and services they are likely to buy.

Psychedelics Starting to Gain Mainstream Acceptance

One trend that many people did not see coming is the resurgence of psychedelics in the mainstream. States like Oregon paved the way by being the first to approve the use of psilocybin mushrooms for therapeutic uses.

More mental health professionals around the country are also starting to question the efficacy of traditional antidepressants and researching psychedelics and their effects more in detail. The John Hopkins Institute just opened a center to research the effects of psychedelics on consciousness and mental health and we can expect many schools to follow suit.

New Generation Wearables

There’s also a revolution going on in the wearables industry. Wearables have been used for years to monitor vital signs, but this generation is doing much more. You now have wearables that can both monitor blood levels and dispense doses of insulin intravenously without the wearer’s input. You even have wearable devices that can be worn on the back to correct the wearer’s posture.

Giants like Apple are also trying to adapt to the growing demand for health and wellness products and they have just added blood oxygen sensors to their latest Apple Watch. This might seem like a small innovation, but it could completely transform the face of the war against Covid as blood oxygen levels are one of the earliest signs of an infection. This means that watch wearers that have the sensor activated could signal their status remotely without the need for tests. This could be one of the most significant medical breakthroughs of the century and it could change the way we approach infectious diseases forever.

These are only some of the trends to watch out for in the health and wellness sector. We can expect it to keep expanding and see the product and service offering grow exponentially over the next few years.
