A 401k plan and health insurance are all very well, but consider this: Paul Nunez, director of The Spa at the Marco Island Marriott, is required by his employment to personally sample the abilities and technique of every prospective massage therapist who is being seriously considered for a position at the spa. So when he gets a massage – and you have to believe the applicants are giving it their best effort – it’s all part of his day’s work.
“The interview includes giving a massage, without a doubt,” said Nunez. “It’s a perk of the job, but at the same time, it’s difficult – I’ve done two a day.”
