My CBD Journey
In the fall of 2014, I had my second child. While delighted to welcome another boy to this world, I noticed that this second pregnancy really affected my body. I was tired and sore, and for reasons I couldn’t explain, I was just sick more often. My body was shot and I was mentally fatigued. Trying to avoid pharmaceuticals, I started to research natural ways to heal, and that’s when I discovered CBD.
The article I found went on to explain that everyone has an ECS Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that, if out of whack, can cause all sorts of issues —from poor skin to poor digestion to anxiety. It said CBD’s role was to work to “right the ship” of the ECS, bringing your body to homeostasis. It really spoke to me. It was all-natural; it didn’t claim any instantaneous miracles; and as far as I could tell, no crazy side effects. I made my first purchase in March 2015.
Honestly, my first experience was not great. The flavor and scent were horrible. I recall describing it to my husband that it “tastes like the smell of weed mixed with some dirt on the side.” But, I committed to taking at least the whole bottle – and it was working. I continued to order for a while, until a few years in, I came across Populum.

Jaded by the poor taste and crappy shopping experience, I was excited to find a brand that offered CBD oil that had a nice orange flavor, along with a risk-free trial for new customers. I’m now honored to say I have been with the company since early 2019, now overseeing Retail Sales & Partnerships.
