(Corona, Calif.) – July 23, 2019 – Glen Ivy Hot Springs, a leading Southern California wellness destination, is pleased to announce Christopher Scheel as General Manager. Scheel comes to Glen Ivy Hot Springs with over twenty-eight years of hospitality experience across food and beverage, spa and hotel management at prominent, branded hotel chains, as well as national restaurant chains.

“Christopher’s passion for providing state of the art guest experiences is inspiring,” said Ingo Schweder, Founder and CEO of GOCO Hospitality, owner and operator of Glen Ivy Hot Springs. “We are thrilled to welcome such a dedicated and talented leader who understands the importance of preserving Glen Ivy’s rich legacy while driving innovation and enhancement.”

Scheel brings with him a proven track record of hospitality management at destinations of all sizes. After beginning his career as a bartender, Scheel worked his way to upper management, giving him a unique perspective into every role within hospitality and service. With an eye for tailored and unique product lines, offerings and amenities, Scheel has overseen details at Holiday Inn, Choice Properties, Extended Stay America and Hilton Marriott properties. A passion for brand development led Scheel to Sundara Inn & Spa, where he served a Guest Services Manager before moving into the role of General Manager, overseeing the design and construction of a $20 million expansion. Most recently, Scheel served as Chief Operating Executive of Heart of America Group in Wisconsin where he led the build and opening of a Hilton Garden Inn and Steakhouse with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space.

Now, Scheel looks forward to focusing his expertise on elevating the Glen Ivy Hot Springs guest experience to new heights. “It’s an honor and a privilege to join the dedicated Glen Ivy Hot Springs team,” said Scheel. “Glen Ivy Hot Springs has been a renowned Southern California wellness destination for nearly 160 years, and I look forward to building upon Glen Ivy’s legacy to ensure that every guest who visits will have a lasting and memorable experience that stays with them for years to come.”
