Sundara Inn & Spa, one of the country’s leading destination spa resorts, has named John Morris general manager. Morris joined Sundara in 2016 as director of spa operations. In his new position, he’ll oversee all resort operations including spa, lodging, cuisine, retail, fitness and wellness programming.
Morris played a lead role in Sundara’s recently completed 40,000 square foot expansion which included the addition of new woodland suites, expanded spa, indoor and outdoor pools, dedicated restaurant, retreat and meeting spaces, and new fitness facility.
Morris has three decades of hospitality experience, having held spa director positions at prominent resort properties including WaterColor Inn and Resort, Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.; Essex Resort and Spa, Essex, Vt.; and Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys. He’s a graduate of Boston College’s Wallace Carroll School of Management with a major in marketing and a minor in finance. For more on Sundara, log on to www.SundaraSpa.com. Sundara is consistently ranked among the top spa properties in the country in annual readers’ choice awards bestowed by Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler magazines. “Sundara has earned a stellar reputation over the past 16 years for providing a world‐class spa experience, with credit to our team of talented and dedicated hospitality professionals,” said Morris. “With our recent multi‐million dollar expansion, we’re now poised to be an industry leader in wellness programming as well, so I’d say our future looks very bright.”
Morris’ past positions have nearly all included responsibility for fitness/wellness programming and that remains a passion of his. “I believe strongly in the importance of providing an exceptional wellness experience for our guests, one that is second to none in the areas of class offerings, state‐of‐the‐art fitness facilities and wellness retreats,” said Morris.
