The New Wave of “Biohacking Spas” A growing number of guests are no longer satisfied with relaxation alone—they are looking for measurable improvements in energy, sleep, recovery, and long‑term health, which is why “biohacking spa” concepts are gaining momentum. This shift shows up in 2026 trend reports that highlight biohacking, sleep optimization, and high‑tech recovery as core wellness directions rather than fringe experiments. For spa owners and practitioners, this is both a challenge and an opportunity: how to integrate emerging tools like red light, contrast therapy, and compression into a hospitality‑driven environment without drifting into over‑medicalized or over‑hyped territory. When done well, these offerings can deepen your spa’s value proposition by supporting guests’ nervous systems, circulation, and recovery between more traditional services. What “Biohacking” Really Means in a Spa In the consumer wellness world, biohacking usually refers to using targeted inputs—light, temperature, pressure, nutrients, and data—to nudge the body toward better performance and resilience. In a spa or med spa context, that translates into offerings that aim to support mitochondrial function, circulation, inflammation, and nervous system regulation, while still feeling like a curated, soothing experience. Common “biohacking” tools now appearing in spa menus include red and near‑infrared light therapy, infrared saunas, cold plunge and contrast therapy, compression boots, PEMF mats, and sometimes IV nutrient therapy in medical settings. Many properties are packaging these modalities into short, clearly structured “recovery circuits” that guests can follow before or after a massage, facial, or workout. Core Recovery Technologies Guests Are Asking About Red and near‑infrared light therapy has become one of the most visible recovery tools thanks to its non‑invasive nature and broad applications for skin rejuvenation, muscle recovery, and pain relief. Newer full‑body systems for 2026 emphasize specific wavelengths—often around 660 nm (red) and 850 nm (near‑infrared)—with protocols designed to deliver benefits in 10–20 minute sessions that integrate easily before or after a spa treatment. Heat and cold remain foundational. Infrared cabins, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs are being paired with cold plunge pools or ice baths to create guided contrast experiences that support circulation, mood, and muscle recovery. Alongside these, compression devices and PEMF mats are powering “recovery lounges” where guests can stack modalities—light, compression, breathwork—in semi‑supervised settings that extend visit length without requiring constant therapist time. Business Opportunities: Revenue, Memberships, and Differentiation From a business standpoint, recovery tech lends itself naturally to memberships, packages, and credit‑based models that stabilize recurring revenue. Spas are building “biohacking memberships” that might include unlimited red light or sauna access plus a set number of higher‑touch services each month, giving members a reason to visit weekly instead of a few times a year. Because many of these tools can be delivered in a self‑service or low‑touch format once guests are oriented, they also help address staffing pressures. Owners report using recovery zones as both an upsell (adding a circuit before or after a traditional service) and a stand‑alone attraction that differentiates them in crowded markets by positioning the property as a recovery hub, not just a pampering destination. Guardrails: Safety, Scope, and Messaging As recovery tech moves into mainstream spa environments, safety and scope of practice must come first. IV drips, injections, and other medical procedures require licensed medical oversight and clear protocols; they should always be framed as clinical services, not casual wellness add‑ons. Even non‑invasive tools like red light, intense heat, and extreme cold have contraindications, including certain medications, cardiovascular conditions, pregnancy considerations, and photosensitivity, so staff training and thoughtful intake forms are essential. Equally important is evidence‑based messaging. Experts caution against sensational claims around longevity or disease treatment, encouraging providers instead to emphasize realistic benefits like relaxation, perceived energy, workout recovery, and support for overall well‑being. Clear explanations in plain language—how light, temperature, and pressure may support circulation or cellular energy—combined with informed consent and measured promises help build trust with increasingly savvy guests. How to Start Integrating Biohacking in Your Spa For most spas and med spas, the most sustainable path is to start small and stack smart. Many operators begin with a single anchor modality—such as an infrared sauna, red light therapy, or compression lounge—and then expand once they understand guest demand, staffing implications, and return on investment. Piloting a simple “recovery circuit” for specific audiences, like athletes, stressed professionals, or perimenopausal guests, can generate real‑world feedback before a full build‑out. The next step is integration. Rather than treating biohacking tools as disconnected novelties, leading properties are weaving them into existing services and digital ecosystems—for example, offering red light as a pre‑facial enhancement, layering PEMF into massage recovery, and using software to track visits, preferences, and outcomes over time. This kind of thoughtful integration allows spa owners and practitioners to participate in the biohacking trend while staying true to their core strengths: caring for guests, creating restorative environments, and delivering experiences that feel both innovative and deeply human. – [...] Read more...

Global Infrared Sauna Leader Donates Wellness Package including Infrared Sauna and Two HALO ONE® Salt Therapy Devices after Local Spa’s Act of GratitudeCarmel, IN — December 4, 2025 — What began as a routine emergency response has transformed into a sweeping show of support for first responders, thanks to a wellness donation from Clearlight®, the global pioneer and industry leader in infrared sauna technology, red light therapy, and wellness solutions for more than 28 years Earlier this month, the Carmel Fire Department (CFD) responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at Carmel Salt Caves & Spa after staff inadvertently dislodged a pipe connected to a gas heater. Firefighters quickly secured the building and ensured everyone’s safety, which is a reminder of the essential role carbon monoxide detectors play in any home or business using gas appliances. While on site, firefighters mentioned a long-standing wish: access to an infrared sauna to support muscle recovery, respiratory health, and stress reduction, all of which are benefits increasingly recognized as essential for first responders. In response, Carmel Salt Caves & Spa immediately donated their Clearlight Infrared Sauna to the Department. But the story didn’t end there. When Clearlight learned of the incident and the spa’s donation, the company took swift action to expand the gift beyond anyone’s expectations. Clearlight is donating a second Clearlight Infrared Sauna to the Carmel Fire Department along with two HALO ONE® Salt Therapy devices, creating a wellness suite to further support the Carmel fire fighters’ respiratory health, muscle recovery, stress relief, and resilience. “When we learned what happened, we knew immediately that we wanted to be part of giving back,” said Dr. Raleigh Duncan, Founder of Clearlight. “These firefighters stepped in without any hesitation. Offering them more wellness tools is our way of saying thank you for all you do in the community. Their work is physically and mentally demanding, and we’re committed to supporting their long-term health in every meaningful way we can.” The additional Clearlight Infrared sauna and HALO ONE devices will broaden CFD’s access to therapeutic tools shown to support: Improved circulation and muscle recovery Reduced physiological stress load Respiratory health through dry salt aerosol therapy Detoxification support, including removal of heavy metals and environmental toxins Clearlight has long supported firefighter wellness through a number of initiatives for individual firefighters, crews, as well as conducting scientific research for their long term wellness. UCSF is currently using the Clearlight Curve® Far Infrared Sauna Dome to study detoxification of endocrine-disrupting chemicals, heavy metals, and mycotoxins. Clearlight also offers the Clearlight’s First Responder ID.ME program. Carmel Salt Caves & Spa, known locally for supporting EMS professionals with free and discounted services, expressed deep gratitude for Clearlight’s amplified gift. “We were honored to give our infrared sauna to the Carmel Fire Department,” said Dr. Skye Winslow, owner of Carmel Salt Caves & Spa. “Clearlight’s generosity has taken this gesture to a whole new level. Their donation will provide powerful, long-term benefits for the health and recovery of our first responders.” As part of the announcement, Carmel Salt Caves & Spa encourages all residents to inspect their carbon monoxide detectors and ensure they are properly installed — a simple safety step that prevented a more serious incident. Clear communication is at the heart of every successful spa, wellness center, and aesthetic practice — but one topic that professionals consistently struggle with is discussing fees, pricing, and financing options. It’s a conversation that matters. When handled well, it builds trust, supports client decision-making, and helps more people access the services that can truly improve their wellbeing. To help practitioners strengthen this skill, CareCredit has launched a new educational video series, beginning with a focused training on how to confidently discuss fees and financing in a way that supports both clients and your business. Featuring Expert Insights from Amy Anderson The first video in the series is led by Amy Anderson, founder and CEO of ACG Practice Partners. Her expertise brings clarity to a topic many professionals find challenging, making this an invaluable starting point for the series. Rain hitting a tin roof has its own kind of gravity. So does the distant hum of a train at night, the kind you sense more in your ribs than in your ears. These sounds tug something loose inside you. Your jaw slackens. Your breath settles into a slower pattern. The body recognizes the world’s music as medicine. This response isn’t poetic or mysterious. It’s an old biological reflex that surfaces whenever the system feels safe enough to release its grip.  For years, wellness spaces leaned on a simple assumption: fewer sounds meant more calm. But inside sound therapy rooms, a subtle change is underway. Practitioners are bringing sound back into the foreground, not as decoration but as a force that coaxes a stressed system toward a softer place.  The “Always-On” Dilemma  Walk a client into a session these days, and you can almost read the state of their body before they speak. Fatigue sits under their skin, but another kind of restlessness jitters through their posture. They are torn between collapse and vigilance. Their sympathetic nervous system runs high, even when nothing urgent waits for them. Traffic, screens, constant decisions, stray notifications — the cues pile up until fight-or-flight becomes a near-permanent setting.  Drop that person in a silent room, and the brain treats the stillness as an opening. Thoughts sprint in every direction. The mind latches onto anything familiar: old conversations, small worries, unfinished to-dos. Traditional relaxation methods often assume the client can slow themselves down on command. Many simply can’t, and that’s where sound therapy helps.  A Multimodal Toolkit for Anxiety  Sound therapy becomes far more effective when it works within a broader nervous-system-supportive approach. Many clients arrive overstimulated by caffeine, irregular sleep, medication interactions, or even mild dehydration—conditions that keep the body in a chemically driven state of alertness. In these moments, mental strategies alone fall short because the body continues sending signals of tension regardless of intention.  That is where combining sound with other holistic, body-centered methods creates deeper relief. When practitioners layer gentle frequencies with breathwork, grounding movements, or other practices that offer hope, clients experience a more complete form of nervous-system regulation. These complementary approaches help the body shift out of its stress loop by giving it multiple cues that safety is available.  After integrating these additional modalities, sound therapy becomes an anchor rather than a standalone tool. The layered effect helps the system soften more quickly, creates a steady foundation for massage, skincare, or restorative rest, and offers clients a pathway that feels supportive instead of overwhelming. The goal is never to override their experience but to guide the body toward a gentler rhythm—one signal at a time.  The Science of the Switch  That is where physics helps explain what intuition already knows. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the Vagus nerve sits at the center of the process. It links the brain to the heart, lungs, and gut, and carries the signals that shift us between stress and restoration. What researchers continue to confirm is that this nerve responds strongly to vibration. Human evolution made good use of that sensitivity. Low, steady sounds meant safety. Harsh or erratic sounds meant an intended threat.  When the body encounters stable frequencies — the kind you hear from a gong, a tuning fork, or a singing bowl — it doesn’t just listen. It adjusts. This process, called entrainment, nudges the system toward the pattern it detects. Heart rate drifts into a calmer cadence. Brainwaves leave sharp, alert states and settle into slower rhythms associated with rest or soft focus. The body syncs itself with the environment, much like clocks in the same room eventually fall into the same swing.  Sound Therapy: Bringing Frequency into the Treatment Room  For practitioners, this understanding changes how a session unfolds. Sound is no longer the pleasant filler that runs under a massage. It becomes another instrument you can use to guide the client’s physiology. Many spas now offer sound baths where clients lie still while the room fills with layered vibration. The experience requires no skill from them. The sound does the work, and for people who struggle with meditation, this passive form often becomes an entry point they didn’t think they had.  Other approaches to sound therapy feel even more tactile. Tables equipped with transducers let clients feel the vibration shift directly through their bones, a grounding sensation that interrupts spiraling thoughts. Weighted tuning forks applied to specific points can add depth to facial treatments or bodywork without dedicating the entire session to sound. These small additions create a kind of sensory richness that softens tension in a way touch alone sometimes can’t.  The Future of Spa Wellness  Luxury has shifted. Where it once revolved around expensive materials or intricate treatments, it now leans toward something quieter: the ability to regulate. Clients want to leave with a body that feels easier to live in, not just skin that feels smoother. Sound helps them get there because it works at the level where stress actually lives — in the circuitry of the nervous system.  What All This Means  Bringing these frequencies into the room is a practical acknowledgment of what clients battle every day. It respects their biological limits and gives them tools they can feel rather than force. It reframes the therapist’s role, too. No longer just a provider of comfort, you become someone who helps the body remember a state it lost track of somewhere along the way.  And when the session ends, the world outside hasn’t softened. The noise persists. Life still asks for attention. But if the client walks out with a steadier rhythm inside them, you have already shifted their day in a meaningful way. Sound therapy gives them that anchor. It’s a reminder that even in a loud world, a single frequency can create enough space for calm to take root again.  – [...] Read more...
If you’re running a spa, salon, med-spa, massage studio or wellness business, you already know that credit card processing fees aren’t just a nuisance; they chip away at your bottom line. But what if you could eliminate those fees altogether? With the Zero Credit Card Processing Fees Program powered CHIPD, that’s exactly what you’re empowered to do. What is the Program? The Zero Credit Card Processing Fees Program is built specifically for the wellness industry including spas, salons, esthetics, massage & facial spas, multi-unit franchises and fitness centers. Here’s how it works: You pay $0 in credit-card processing fees on transactions. There are no equipment fees, no long-term contracts, and no surprise costs.  You get modern, sleek payment terminals and white-glove support tailored for your industry. Why This Matters for Wellness Industry Consider this: many wellness businesses typically pay 3 %–4 % (or more) on every credit card transaction. Over a month, those fees can add up to thousands of dollars.  This is money that could’ve been reinvested in treatments, staff, marketing, or simply showing up on your bottom line. Example Savings Let’s say your spa processes $50,000/month in card payments and you pay 3.5 % in processing fees. That’s $1,750/month in fees → $21,000/year gone just to processing. With this program, you could eliminate those fees, and keep thousands of dollars in your business instead. Over a year, that could mean $20,000+ in savings, freeing up new budget for upgrades, expansion or simply boosting your profit margin. Additional Perks You Get Because you’re no longer absorbing transaction fees, you gain financial control—you know exactly what you’re paying (zero), no surprises. Enhanced client-experience: With clean, modern hardware and transparent pricing, you maintain professionalism and trust. No hidden costs: equipment, contracts, or sneaky fees. Just straightforward.  Support tailored for your industry: wellness businesses have unique payment flows (e.g., recurring memberships, spa packages, prepaid treatments) and this program is built with you in mind. How to Get Started Request a demo of the Zero Credit Card Processing Fees Program at CHIPDpay.com via CHIPD’s wellness/med-spa page.  Evaluate your current processing statement—see how much you’re paying now. Work with CHIPD to implement the compliant pricing model. Train your team—let employees and clients know how the payment option works and ensure smooth rollout. Monitor your savings: track month over month how much of your revenue you retain versus what you used to pay. Final Word In the wellness business, you invest in every aspect of your client’s experience, from ambiance and service quality to staff expertise and product offerings. It only makes sense to invest in eliminating unnecessary costs too. With the Zero Credit Card Processing Fees Program powered by CHIPD, you eliminate one of the most persistent hidden drains on your business and unlock thousands of dollars in savings each year. If you’re ready to keep more of what you earn while continuing to deliver exceptional wellness experiences, this program is the financial game-changer your business deserves. Learn More FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions Q: Will my clients be charged extra if I switch to this program?A: With this program, the credit card processing cost is passed to the client if they use a credit or debit card. The cash price remains. It’s important to communicate clearly to clients. Q: What about recurring payments (memberships, packages)?A: Make sure you discuss recurring billing or membership plans with your sales representative at CHIPD.  Q: Are there any equipment or terminal fees?A: No, there are no equipment fees and no long-term contracts with this program.  Q: How much could I realistically save?A: It depends on your sales volume and your current fee rate. But if you’re processing $40K-$60K/month and paying ~3% fees, you may save $15K-$25K/year or more just by eliminating those fees. Q: Will my POS or booking system need upgrades or changes?A: Possibly: you’ll want a system that supports pricing display.  CHIPD will help you with the integration.  Q: How do I communicate this to clients so they understand what’s going on?A: Use signage at checkout, update your website or booking confirmation messages, and train your front-desk staff. Emphasize the benefits — that you’re adopting a smarter payment model so you can keep costs down and maintain or improve service value. Learn More – [...] Read more...
Myndstream announces collaboration with Mayo Clinic to explore the power of functional music with rigorous clinical data  LONDON, 17th November 2025 – In a groundbreaking move, global wellness music brand Myndstream has announced a know-how collaboration with Mayo Clinic – the global medical centre for expert care and research – to research the clinical applications of music in healthcare. The agreement marks Myndstream’s entry into the healthcare sector, building on the company’s longstanding work with top academic and wellness institutions to study music’s therapeutic impact and potential.  Under the agreement, Mayo Clinic has taken an equity stake in Myndstream and together they will explore the clinical potential of functional music in healthcare settings to better understand how music can be used to enhance patient recovery and clinician wellbeing.  Hospitals can be intense environments, testing patients through unfamiliar, stressful and sometimes traumatic experiences, while also challenging healthcare professionals to manage fast-paced, emotionally charged situations. The new collaboration has been forged to explore how Myndstream’s outcome-driven music offering can be applied in these settings to potentially reduce stress, support recovery and enhance overall wellbeing to support both immediate and long-term health outcomes.  Intentional music listening is already a well-established therapeutic modality, supported by decades of research demonstrating its positive impact on a range of health issues from anxiety1 and cardiac health to dementia2, pain management3 and more. This collaboration seeks to build upon this foundation, combining Myndstream’s experience in music for health and wellbeing, with Mayo Clinic’s clinical expertise to explore potential new frontiers in evidence-based music for health.  The collaboration will see Myndstream work alongside Mayo Clinic’s Dr. Dawn Mussallem, D.O. and her team. Dr. Mussallem is a distinguished integrative oncologist, board-certified lifestyle medicine physician and Stage 4 cancer survivor.  “Collaborating with a world-class organisation like Mayo Clinic marks a pivotal step in our mission to unlock the therapeutic power of music,” said Freddie Moross, founder of Myndstream. “This collaboration allows us to explore and seek to validate what so many know instinctively – that music can be a profound tool for healing and human connection.  “With the global wellness market projected to reach US$9 trillion by 20284, there’s immense potential for functional music to become a mainstream therapeutic resource. This collaboration is helping to transform music from something people simply listen to into a readily accessible tool that actively supports wellbeing.”  The collaboration comprises a knowledge-sharing period, in which Myndstream will work with Dr. Mussallem’s team to investigate the impact of its functional music on patients and clinicians. Myndstream intends to refine its offerings with data gathered from these studies, seeking to validate the role of functional music in improving physical, emotional and cognitive outcomes.  Myndstream has been championing the healing power of functional music since 2021, when Moross put the concept on the map for the industry, spotlighting the crucial role music and sound can play in therapeutic and wellness contexts.  Global Wellness Summit 2025  Moross will unpack the new collaboration at the intersection of sound, science and healing with Dr. Mussallem this week at the 19th annual Global Wellness Summit in Dubai. In tandem, Dr. Mussallem will share her personal healthcare journey as a stage IV cancer survivor and heart transplant recipient and how this has influenced her work and research.  About Myndstream  Pioneering a new approach to audio, Myndstream combines art and science to create music that transforms spaces and elevates how people feel within them. At the heart of the brand is a belief that music can play a powerful role in supporting health and wellbeing.  Myndstream’s soundscapes have been composed for use across spas, therapeutic practices, hospitality environments and personal wellness routines. Designed to promote relaxation, enhance mood, improve focus and restore energy, the music transforms everyday spaces into immersive environments of calm, care and intention.  Through partnerships with leading academic institutions and wellness organizations, Myndstream is at the forefront of research exploring the impact of music in therapeutic settings. The brand also collaborates with a world-class roster of musicians and A-list talent to create and curate wellness-focused audio experiences for both businesses and individuals.  Widely recognized as the gold standard in wellness audio, Myndstream is the official audio partner of Forbes Travel Guide and the Global Wellness Summit.  Myndstream is part of Cutting Edge Group, the acclaimed music company behind scores for Stranger Things, Whiplash, Bridgerton and other major film and television productions. Drawing on over 20 years of experience shaping emotional narratives through sound, Cutting Edge launched Myndstream to bring that same depth of impact to the world of wellness.  Media contact:  Megan Whitby  Brand Manager   megan@myndstream.com  – [...] Read more...

25 of 29 Participants No Longer Met Criteria for Depression after Combined Whole Body Heat Treatment Using The Clearlight® Curve® Far Infrared Sauna Dome and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Protocol BERKELEY, CA—October 23, 2025 – In conjunction with October as National Depression Awareness Month, a new UCSF randomized trial underscores the potential of infrared heat therapy in depression treatment. The findings from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) reveal that whole-body heating (WBH) combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) was well-received by patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), and 86.2% of patients no longer met criteria for MDD at their final assessment. The study, led by Ashley E. Mason, PhD, a clinical psychologist at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health and the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences, tested an integrated mind-body treatment combining WBH, a type of whole-body heat treatment using infrared heating, and CBT as a treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). The study, which builds on earlier trials led by Dr. Mason (2024 news here) and provides both infrared heat treatments and psychotherapy sessions for the treatment of MDD, was published on October 22, 2025, in Global Advances in Integrative Medicine and Health (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/27536130251387714). The study used the The Clearlight Curve Far Infrared Sauna Dome, manufactured by Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions. In brief, the trial enrolled 30 adults with MDD. Each patient received eight weekly sessions of cognitive behavior therapy conducted by Zoom (virtual), and biweekly whole-body heating sessions, conducted in a Curve Dome. Of 30 patients, 29 (96.7%) completed the trial, and more than 75% said they would recommend participation to a friend or family member with depression. Dr. Mason began the clinical trial after being inspired by prior work showing that infrared heat treatment caused rapid reductions in depression. Preliminary results from prior studies and Dr. Mason’s most recent study suggests that infrared heat treatment may help significantly reduce depression symptoms.  “That 25 of 29 participants (86.2 %) saw meaningful reductions in depression symptoms, regardless of infrared heating level, tells us that we have more work to do, but sends a positive and hopeful message,” said Dr. Mason. “It reinforces that we have much to learn about how heat therapy and traditional psychotherapy might work together.”   While Dr. Mason’s future clinical trial testing efficacy will take several years, early results from her feasibility studies are showing that whole-body heating may reduce depression symptoms. In a previous trial with people with depression, Mason also found that the whole-body heating sessions acutely improved mood, and found that these improvements predicted overall response to the treatment. She found similar results in an earlier trial with people who did not have depression; even in this group, the data showed significant improvements in mood and nearly statistically significant improvements in depression symptoms. Dr. Mason’s studies published in 2021, 2024, and 2025 that showed improvements in mood all used The Curve Infrared Sauna Dome, a compact, portable infrared sauna wellness device manufactured by Clearlight. The Curve allows for precise, consistent heat exposure in a controlled research environment which is a critical component for the research. “This study on depression builds on Dr. Mason and her team’s incredible work and continues to validate what our customers have shared for decades. People have been telling us how using our infrared saunas has changed their lives by reducing stress and lifting their spirits. We’re honored to see our technology used in this kind of rigorous, meaningful research that may help reimagine how we approach mental health care,” said Dr. Raleigh Duncan, Clearlight Founder. Dr. Duncan is widely recognized for his expertise in infrared therapy as one of the most significant contributors to technologies for healing the human body and as a leader in advancing the industry for more than 28 years. About Clearlight®:Founded by a Chiropractic Physician, Dr. Raleigh Duncan, Clearlight is the industry leader in infrared sauna technology and a pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions for more than 28 years. Clearlight was the first company to develop Carbon/Ceramic infrared heaters capable of delivering a deeper, more penetrating infrared wavelength, while also offering the lowest EMF (electromagnetic fields) and EF (extremely low frequency) available on the market. Dr. Duncan is widely considered one of the early pioneers in infrared sauna technologies and has patents/patents-pending for much of the technology Clearlight uses. The medical spa industry is evolving fast. Today’s clients aren’t just seeking results—they’re looking for an experience that blends science, serenity, and self-care. They expect a clinical environment that feels luxurious and a luxury environment that inspires confidence. That balance begins with the details—and one of the most important is often overlooked: the treatment table. The Unsung Hero of the Med Spa Experience Think about it—every treatment begins and ends on the table. It’s the literal foundation of the client experience, setting the tone for how comfortable, cared for, and safe someone feels during their visit. In the medical spa world, where clients often receive injectable treatments, advanced facials, or body contouring, comfort isn’t a luxury—it’s part of the clinical outcome. That’s why many forward-thinking spa owners and designers are paying closer attention to how their equipment supports the entire experience. Comfort as a Brand Experience For clients, comfort and luxury are inseparable. When a treatment table offers smooth, quiet adjustments, perfect positioning, and a sense of effortless support, it immediately communicates professionalism and care. This level of comfort is part of what transforms a one-time visit into a repeat client. Living Earth Crafts, a long-respected leader in spa and wellness equipment, designed the Cascade precisely with this experience in mind. Its plush cushioning, whisper-quiet hydraulic lift system, and precision adjustments create a smooth, relaxing transition for every client. For practitioners, it means less strain and more control—allowing them to stay focused on what matters most: the client’s comfort and results. Multi-Treatment Versatility and Integrated Wellness Technologies Today’s medical spas are multi-dimensional. Many now combine wellness and aesthetics under one roof, offering everything from massage therapy to laser treatments. The ability to switch seamlessly between modalities isn’t just convenient—it’s essential for maximizing efficiency and ROI. The Cascade’s thoughtful engineering supports that versatility. With adjustable height, tilt, and backrest positions—including Trendelenburg positioning—it adapts easily to a variety of treatment types. Even more impressive, the Cascade integrates proprietary wellness technologies into its design, making it one of the most advanced treatment tables available today. Practitioners can conduct VitaLymph™ Therapy for lymphatic support, combining gentle heat, vibration, and optimal positioning to promote healthy circulation. The Cascade also pairs seamlessly with Celluma®’s post-treatment Far-infrared pulsed light recovery protocol, enhancing aesthetic procedures and accelerating visible results. For body and massage therapies, it offers targeted FDA-cleared pulsed LED light therapy, dual-zone heat, and vibration for a deeply restorative experience. These built-in features not only elevate client outcomes but also create revenue enhancement opportunities—helping spa owners and practitioners see a faster return on investment while offering a higher standard of care. Design That Reflects Your Brand Beyond performance, there’s the visual side of the med spa experience. Clients notice when your treatment spaces feel cohesive, calm, and well-designed. Equipment that looks as good as it performs reinforces your brand’s image of sophistication and care. Living Earth Crafts is known for its craftsmanship and aesthetic customization. The Cascade can be tailored to complement a spa’s unique design—from clean, clinical white finishes to rich wood tones that evoke warmth and luxury. For designers and franchise operators, that’s an advantage: one table model can fit seamlessly into a variety of branded interiors while maintaining a consistent look and feel. A Smart Investment in Longevity and Trust In a world where technology and trends evolve rapidly, investing in long-lasting, adaptable equipment is a strategic move. A high-quality treatment table like the Cascade is not just a tool—it’s a statement of your business values. It says you prioritize client comfort, practitioner wellbeing, and operational excellence. Over time, that investment pays dividends through efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, and stronger client relationships. Clients may not know the brand of your table, but they’ll remember how they felt during their treatment—and that’s what brings them back. The Takeaway The medical spa of the future isn’t just about offering the latest technology—it’s about creating an environment where wellness, science, and luxury meet. Choosing the right treatment table might seem like a small decision, but it’s one that influences every touchpoint of the client experience. For medical spas looking to elevate their services, Living Earth Crafts’ Cascade is more than a piece of furniture—it’s a foundation for comfort, versatility, and lasting success. If you’re considering offering the CareCredit credit card as a financing solution at your practice or business, it’s important to know all the facts. We set the record straight by dispelling 9 myths. As a provider, offering flexible patient financing through CareCredit can have many benefits for your practice or business and for your patients or clients. But there may be misinformation that might be holding you back from getting started. Below, we separate the myths from the facts so you can make an informed decision about joining the more than 285,000 provider and retail locations that accept CareCredit. Myth #1: CareCredit Doesn’t Approve a Lot of Customers You might be hesitant to get started with a whole new financing option if it may only apply to a small percentage of your clientele. But what if CareCredit could empower more patients and clients to move forward with care? Fact: CareCredit approved more than 2.4 million new accounts in 2024. The CareCredit credit card is one of the largest health and wellness credit cards in the United States, averaging around 200,000 new accounts per month. Adding CareCredit to your patient or client financing options may help remove cost barriers that are holding some back from seeking services. In fact, 3 out of 4 people would seek more services for health and wellness care if they had ways to pay for them, according to CareCredit’s Healthcare Journey Research Consumers and Providers study.1 Myth #2: Offering Financing Creates More Work for My Team It’s only natural to be hesitant about bringing in a new option that may impact your daily operations and financing. You could be worried that it will disrupt your current system, or that the learning curve might be challenging for an already busy staff to overcome. Fact: CareCredit can simplify your administrative workflows. CareCredit can lighten your team’s administrative and financial workload in a few key ways. It can seamlessly integrate into your team’s day-to-day tasks and practice or business software systems, including the ability to look up CareCredit accounts through your list of upcoming appointments, complete a transaction without leaving your management software and/or easily post transactions to your ledger. In many cases, CareCredit credit card applications only take a few minutes, and those interested may apply on their own device using a custom link or QR code. The digital-led experience can help reduce paperwork and make cost conversations with patients or clients easier. Myth #3: My Patients/Clients Don’t Want Financing, and Offering It Will Turn Them Off You might be concerned that some consumers perceive patient or client financing solutions and the overall concept of borrowing through credit as something to be wary of. But effective communication can help show your patients or clients the potential benefits of financing options. Fact: CareCredit is a trusted brand, with 1 in 10 U.S. adult residents have or have had a CareCredit credit card.3 CareCredit has 12+ million open cardholders and has financed more than $157 billion in care since its inception. With CareCredit’s education tools and resources as a guide, you can help ensure your patients or clients clearly understand how the card works. When leveraging best communication practices, special financing through CareCredit can help more people move forward with the care they want or need. Myth #4: Prequalification Will Impact a Patient’s or Client’s Credit Score One of the things applicants may worry about when applying for credit is that it will trigger a hard inquiry, which can cause their credit score to drop. And therefore, as a provider, you may feel uncomfortable asking your patient or client to apply. Fact: Patients or clients can see if they prequalify in real time with no impact to their credit. One of the advantages of CareCredit is that patients and clients can see if they are likely to be approved for a line of credit without a hard pull on their credit reports. If they decide not to apply, their credit score is not affected, offering them a risk-free way to review their options. Myth #5: Patients and Clients Would Rather Stick With Their Existing Credit Cards It’s true that some people may be hesitant to open up new credit cards at the point of sale, but CareCredit works differently than other credit cards. Fact: 95% of surveyed cardholders ranked the CareCredit credit card as “good to excellent value.”4 CareCredit is not the same as other credit cards since it’s a dedicated health and wellness card that offers access to special financing options. Cardholders can use the card and its benefits again and again without having to reapply. What’s more, CareCredit can actually help you retain and build loyalty, as 45% of cardholders reused CareCredit in the same practice or retailer within the same year (2023). Myth #6: Most People Think of CareCredit as Just for Health and Wellness Costs While CareCredit is offered by a variety of healthcare providers, if you have a health and wellness practice that falls outside the confines of traditional healthcare, this is an option you can offer your patients or clients as well. Fact: CareCredit is accepted in more than 285,000 provider and retail locations, across 50 health and wellness specialties: dental, vet, cosmetic care (including med spas and day spas), vision, hearing, behavioral healthcare and more. Many areas of health and wellness often include elective services that may not be covered, or fully covered, by insurance. Oftentimes, patients and clients could benefit from having financing options. Here are some examples: Over half of ophthalmology patients surveyed (56%) said they struggle to pay out-of-pocket costs.1 Only 35% of med spa patients and clients surveyed said they were offered any type of financing or payment plan.1 Synchrony’s Pet Lifetime of Care Study revealed that 53% of pet owners surveyed said they would use a credit card dedicated to financing care for their pet.5 Learn More: Watch how CareCredit can help empower your patients to move forward with care and provide value to your practice. MYTH #7: CareCredit Costs Too Much for My Practice or Business While you might assume that incorporating a new payment solution into your practice or business would be costly, it’s important to dig into the numbers and consider the potential return on investment. Fact: Offering CareCredit can help improve cash flow and increase overall revenue while simplifying compliance. With CareCredit, there are no surprise expenses. CareCredit merchant fees are transparent and consistent, and there are no annual fees. And while there is an associated cost, CareCredit can help attract new patients or clients and encourage repeat visits. For instance, among vet care clients, new cardholders used CareCredit more than three times in their first year. Myth #8: It Will Take a Longer Time to Receive Full Payment If you create a payment plan for your patients or clients internally, it’s true that you will get paid incrementally over time. But that’s not how CareCredit works for providers. Fact: When a patient or client pays with CareCredit, your practice or business gets paid within two business days. When a patient or client uses CareCredit to finance a payment to your practice or business, you get the agreed-upon total payment right away. The financial relationship then shifts so that the patient or client pays CareCredit directly. Any late or missed payments will be handled by CareCredit, taking the collections burden off your administrative team. Myth #9: If My Patient or Client Doesn’t Pay Their Credit Card Bills, It Will Negatively Affect My Business. With in-house payment plans, a patient’s or client’s failure to pay on time may result in losses or hardship for your practice or business. Fortunately, that’s not how it works with CareCredit. Fact: Even if a cardholder defaults on their payments to CareCredit, your practice or business still gets paid. CareCredit is a non-recourse program, so if a cardholder delays payment or fails to make their payments, your practice or business is not held responsible.* Your practice or business receives payment from CareCredit within two business days of the transaction, and then there’s no longer a need to worry about collection efforts pertaining to that patient or client interaction. Get More Facts About CareCredit With so many other responsibilities on your plate — first and foremost, the care of your patients or clients — it’s understandable if some of these myths might have shaped your perception of CareCredit. However, now that you’re armed with the facts, you are in a better position to decide if it’s a good solution for your practice or business. Learn More: For an additional way to share this information with your team, view our downloadable CareCredit Myths vs. Facts sheet. A Patient Financing Solution for Health and Wellness Providers If you are looking for a way to connect your patients with flexible financing that empowers them to pay for the care they want and need, consider offering the CareCredit credit card as a financing solution. CareCredit allows cardholders to pay for out-of-pocket health and wellness expenses over time while helping enhance the payments process for your practice or business. When you accept CareCredit, patients can see if they prequalify with no impact to their credit score, and those who apply, if approved, can take advantage of special financing on qualifying purchases.** Additionally, your practice or business will be paid directly within two business days. So, you’ve made it through recovery. The really hard part. The sleepless nights, the vulnerable group shares, the step work, the emotional minefields – all behind you. Well… mostly. Life after recovery isn’t exactly a walk in the park either. Sure, the cravings may be quieter now. Maybe you’ve got a stable routine, maybe even some peace. But when the world expects you to just “get back to normal” – when normal never really existed to begin with – that’s a different kind of pressure. It’s called post-recovery stress. And it can creep in slowly, in moments when you least expect it: when you’re at the grocery store trying to remember what joy felt like, or when you’re staring at a calendar that suddenly feels way too empty… or way too full. And honestly? It’s not talked about enough, which is why today, we’ll get into rebalancing post-recovery stress through tailored wellness services in particular.  What No One Tells You About Life After Recovery  The phrase “post-recovery” is funny, isn’t it? It makes it sound like recovery is something you finish, like assembling IKEA furniture. You’re done! Life goes back to normal!  Except… what if you’ve never lived a “normal” life? What if the version of you that needed substances just to make it through the day hasn’t fully figured out who they are without them?  The scaffolding disappears once the treatment ends. The daily check-ins, the support, the structure… all that, gone. Meanwhile, real life comes rushing back in only to bring with it deadlines, bills, awkward social invites, and strained family dinners.  You’re supposed to feel grateful. Instead, you might just feel anxious… tired, or weirdly numb. That’s post-recovery stress – emotional aftershock that hits once the dust settles. It’s not a relapse waiting to happen… but it can turn into one should it get ignored long enough.  Why Mental Health Still Deserves a Front Seat  So much of the recovery journey is focused on physical sobriety – on staying clean, avoiding triggers, managing cravings. And sure, that matters. What no one talks about, though, is emotional and psychological well-being.  That said, after completing a recovery program, rather than focusing on physical routines only, such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep, start proactively working on your mental health. It’s just as important as any physical practice, if not more. Only when your inner balance is well supported can you appropriately deal with stress and anxiety, and keep your long-term sobriety protected. It is important to connect with others, seek professional support when needed, and gradually make realistic changes to routines and habits to strengthen your mental health.  Tailored Wellness Services For Rebalancing Post-Recovery Stress  Now that we’ve acknowledged the stress (hi, stress), what do we do with it?  We deal with it, which is what the tailored wellness services are for; ones that actually feel personal, adjusted to your body, your mind, and your recovery timeline.  Here are a few examples to paint a better picture:‎   1. Trauma-Informed Therapy‎   Even if you didn’t experience what most would call ”trauma,” chances are, your nervous system’s been through some things. A trauma-informed therapist gets that – they know recovery isn’t linear and that sometimes you need to talk around things before you can talk about them.  2. Somatic Practices  Fancy word. Simple idea. Basically, it’s what helps your body process what your mind can’t. Yoga, breathwork, gentle movement – not because it’s trendy, but because your body stores stress. And movement, even micro-movement, helps release it.  3. Acupuncture or Massage Therapy  Why not treat yourself to some spa practices – say, acupuncture and massage?  After all, studies show that acupuncture can help regulate your nervous system and ease cravings. As for massage, it helps reduce anxiety and improve sleep, which can be particularly useful if your body still holds onto restlessness or agitation.  4. Nutrition Counseling‎   Recovery takes a toll on your gut, your hormones, and your blood sugar. A specialist who understands recovery can help you figure out how to eat in a way that doesn’t just look healthy, but actually feels supportive.  5. Mindfulness & Meditation‎   Yes, yes, it’s everywhere. But when done right – meaning with guidance and no pressure to “clear your mind” – mindfulness techniques can help you notice when stress is building up before it explodes. Think of it as your internal radar.  6. Energy Healing & Spiritual Support  These aren’t for everyone. If you’re curious, though, Reiki, sound baths, or even low-key spiritual mentoring can be surprisingly grounding. Sometimes you just need a quiet space to remember there’s more to life than coping.  The Power of Routine  You felt good during rehab because you had structure. Structure is something your body still craves and needs to reduce decision fatigue, ease anxiety, and help you build momentum toward the life you want.  Now, we aren’t talking about having a rigid schedule. That’s not sustainable in the long run. You do, however, need consistency.  Start with small habits:  Morning walks or stretching  Journaling before bed  A standing weekly therapy session  Meal planning on Sundays  Scheduled downtime (yes, rest is productive)  Think of your routine like scaffolding – it supports you while you rebuild. Eventually, the structure becomes a lifestyle.  Why Rebalancing Post-Recovery Stress Today Pays Off Tomorrow  This post-recovery phase? It’s not the warm-down lap. It’s the recalibration. The part where you figure out what thriving actually feels like.  When you make space for mental and physical recovery to happen together – when you allow wellness to be ongoing instead of a reward for being “good” – you change the game.  Suddenly, you’re not just staying sober. You’re staying present. Connected. Functional, even on bad days.  You’re building a life that fits the you you’re becoming… not the one you had to survive as.  You Deserve More Than Maintenance  Maybe you’re not ready to call a therapist or book an acupuncture appointment tomorrow. That’s okay. But maybe tonight, you can go to bed 30 minutes earlier. Or drink a glass of water before your second coffee. Or text that friend who gets it. Tiny changes count. And rebalancing post-recovery stress? It isn’t a project. It’s a process – one that gets more manageable when you stop pretending it doesn’t exist. So whether it’s through therapy, acupuncture, breathwork, or simply carving out 10 minutes a day to check in with yourself, invest in what makes you feel whole.  – [...] Read more...
Introduction: A New Wave of Wellness Technology In today’s wellness landscape, clients are increasingly drawn to therapies that go beyond relaxation — they’re seeking science-backed methods that support recovery, performance, and long-term vitality. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is one of those emerging modalities bridging science and self-care. For spa owners and practitioners, understanding how PEMF works — and how it can complement other modalities — opens new doors for client results and business growth. What Is PEMF Therapy? Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy uses low-frequency electromagnetic waves to stimulate and “recharge” the body’s cells. These waves mirror the natural electromagnetic frequencies of the Earth, which our bodies evolved alongside. Over time, modern lifestyles — filled with stress, limited movement, and exposure to electronic devices — can disrupt our natural energy balance. PEMF therapy sends gentle, rhythmic energy pulses through the body, helping restore electrical balance and support optimal cellular function. The Science: How It Works At the cellular level, PEMF influences the body in several key ways: Cellular Recharge: Every cell in the human body operates through electrical charge. PEMF helps restore voltage to depleted or fatigued cells, improving their ability to repair and communicate. Enhanced Circulation: Magnetic pulses stimulate blood flow and oxygenation, which can speed up recovery and tissue repair. Improved Detoxification: By encouraging healthy cell exchange, PEMF assists in flushing out metabolic waste and reducing inflammation. Nervous System Support: Gentle electromagnetic fields promote balance in the autonomic nervous system, often leading to improved relaxation and better sleep patterns. When applied consistently, these effects can translate into tangible benefits for clients — from faster muscle recovery to deeper relaxation and reduced discomfort. HealthyLine’s Unique Approach: PEMF Meets Gemstone Heat Therapy HealthyLine holds the sole patent for gemstone heat therapy mats that include a PEMF system, combining multiple natural therapies into one cohesive experience. Here’s what makes this blend powerful for spa applications: PEMF + Far Infrared Heat: The PEMF system energizes cells, while far infrared heat increases circulation and loosens muscles — amplifying the body’s natural healing response. Heated Gemstone Therapy: When heated, layers of jade, tourmaline, and amethyst naturally increase their release of negative ions and far infrared rays. Together, these elements help support energy balance and improve circulation. Customizable Sessions: Practitioners can adjust intensity and duration, making it ideal for both full-body sessions and post-treatment recovery support. This combination of technologies creates a treatment experience that’s both therapeutic and deeply restorative — setting spas apart with a modality that clients immediately feel and notice. Why Spa Professionals Are Adopting PEMF Therapy For spa owners and practitioners, PEMF therapy represents more than just a wellness trend — it’s a science-backed modality that: Enhances the results of existing treatments (massage, facials, body wraps, etc.) Offers clients a measurable sense of recovery and vitality Provides a point of differentiation in a competitive market Supports practitioner well-being by reducing physical strain during treatments PEMF therapy also aligns perfectly with the growing interest in biohacking, longevity, and integrative wellness, helping spas stay on the cutting edge of client demand. Conclusion: Bringing PEMF to Your Practice Understanding the science behind PEMF therapy empowers spa professionals to confidently integrate it into their services. With HealthyLine’s patented gemstone PEMF mats, you’re not just offering a new treatment — you’re providing clients with a technology that supports their wellness at the cellular level. Yes, it has 700 mg of electrolytes, making it great for hydration, but it also includes Liposomal Glutathione for detox, and Vitamin C for your immune system, and B Vitamins for overall wellness, and Magnesium Glycinate for recovery, so I think of this as more of a multivitamin immune supplement with added hydration benefits, and this is what makes it different. It’s a multi-angled approach formulated in a way that your body can actually absorb and use and feel. I take it every morning.”  Video here. “As someone who views health and wellness holistically, I have incorporated supplements into my diet for most of my life. However, I always questioned how much of each supplement I was actually absorbing. Restore is different and I truly believe it’s because of the Capsoil technology and optimal bioavailability of the ingredients that allows for maximum absorption. I have added Restore to my daily routine for the past two months and I can feel and see a noticeable difference.
